Since one of the ongoing strategies to realize the diversification program of Iran's petrochemical products production basket is the completion of the ethylene value chain, completing this chain and producing valuable polyethylene products in the Iranian petrochemical industry are part of the new policy of the National Petrochemical Company of Iran to reduce raw material sales in the country - In this regard, Arya Sasol Polymer Company intends to convert surplus ethylene beyond consumption in its own low-density and high-density polyethylene units and the ethylbenzene unit of Pars Petrochemical Company, which injects into the West Ethylene Line, into a more valuable product due to the completion of the capacity to receive this line in the near future and the possibility of discontinuation of this injection. Therefore, the construction of a unit capable of producing various grades of medium and heavy polyethylene with a capacity of 300,000 tons per year, based on the existing design and with improvements in design and consideration of past operational experiences, has been approved by the board of directors in a 3.5-hectare space within the complex. Given the infrastructure needs of the new unit, part of the existing utility network of the Arya Sasol Petrochemical Complex (such as the cooling water network, flare network, hexene-1 feed tank, and other requirements) needs to be reviewed and developed to meet the needs of the new unit.
